A condition of mental and emotional strain with demanding circumstances is what is referred to as stress. Stress affects the mental health of a person. Many things can cause stress. People are affected by the causes of stress differently. Some people get stressed at their workplace. At the workplace, one can be affected by being unhappy with the job, working for long hours, and working under dangerous conditions. The other category of stress is the life stress. The causes of life stress are divorce, getting married, loss of a job, the death of a loved one among others.
Stress can also emanate from inside a person. Meaning that one can stress themselves out by worrying about certain things. Examples of such are fear and certainty, attitude and perceptions, unrealistic expectations, and major life changes. It is unhealthy to be stressful. People are advised to try as much as they can to relieve themselves from stress. There are proven negative health effects of stress. Irritability, a headache, fatigue, and difficulty in sleeping are the examples of the health implications of stress. The worst can happen with some of these health implications of stress. The good news is that there are ways to manage stress.
The simple tips of dealing with stress are as follows. Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol should be avoided by avoided when a person is experiencing stress. Both nicotine and caffeine are stimulants. People mistake these substances for reducing the stress levels but in the real case they increase it.
